In 2008, The Four Seasons initiated a strategic, phased restoration of Philip Johnson's legendary restaurant in the Seagram Building.  The 1959 modernist masterpiece, which is a designated NYC Interior Landmark, required intensive research into Philip Johnson's archival drawings and details in order to ensure the restoration efforts aligned with Johnson's vision.  Under the leadership of Monty Freeman, a fully detailed and coordinated restoration masterplan was prepared that would allow the restaurant to remain in operation for the duration of the project. Completed renovations include the lobby stairway, refurbishment of ornamental metalwork, and the Ladies' Lounge, which was gut renovated to faithfully restore it to original condition.
