CALVIN KLEIN MADISON AVENUE RENOVATION

Location: New York City
Year Completed: 2015

COMPLETED WHILE EMPLOYED AT MR ARCHITECTURE + DECOR, P.C.

In 2015, Calvin Klein, Inc. elected to perform a selective and strategic renovation of the first and second floors of their iconic flagship store on Madison Avenue, originally designed by John Pawson. The renovation sought to increase accessory shelving on both floors, introduce new retail fixtures and custom furniture, and upgrade the lighting design through the use of energy efficient fixtures. The introduction of bleached wide plank douglas fir, milled and joined with exquisite precision and craft, add an element of warmth to the space. The use of creamy limestone for the new shelving system seamlessly adapts to the existing color palette.
